New Plans For Charlottesville Coca Cola Building

by staff on September 13, 2014

Coca Cola Building in Charlottesville VAA few years ago we told you about plans to develop the Coca-Cola building on Charlottesville’s Preston Ave. after it was purchased for intended renovation. Those plans did not materialize.

Now the 38,000 sq.ft. building …. which was built in an Art Deco style in 1939 and was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 … has been purchased by the local Riverbend Development.  They have contracted with a local Belmont pub to be the first of their new businesses, with a beer hall and garden on the main level.  When you think about it, there might be some logical overlap in the architectural needs of soft drink bottling and a beer garden.

At this time their plan is to have offices on the 2nd floor.  That plan will allow the remaining ground floor loading docks to become street level businesses.
