UVa Scholar Returns For Forum

Miller Center at University of Virginia in CharlottesvilleIn light of the recent news events from Ferguson MO, this forum which is scheduled at the UVa Miller Center seems even more timely.

On Sept. 24, 2014 at 11:00, author Vesla Weaver will speak to the public about her book called Arresting Citizenship-The Democratic Consequences of American Crime Control.   She is a an assistant professor at Yale, focusing on political science and issues of racial equality.  She was writing about increased criminal prosecution and its effects on communities, even prior to the Ferguson uprising.  This promises to be a fact-filled event from an expert in the field.
