One of the interesting benefits of living near the University of Virginia, is the access to special programs and tools that the university shares with the rest of the community. Such is the case tomorrow (Saturday) night when the UVa Astronomy Department teams up with the Charlottesville Astronomical Society for a presentation in conjunction with the ‘Dark Stars, Bright Kids’ outreach program for their annual Central Virginia Star Party.
This Star Party is a family friendly event in Albemarle County and all are welcome. Several telescopes will be available to view the dark skies of Central Virginia, and instructors will help point out the constellations, Mars, Saturn, and other features.
The Star Party is Saturday at Red Hill Elementary school, 3901 Red Hill School Road in Albemarle County. Times are scheduled from 8-10 p.m.
