If you head west from Charlottesville toward the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mts., you’ll almost be arriving at Mint Springs Valley Park, near the town of Crozet. The park consists of 500+ acres, including an 8-acre lake which is stocked with trout for fishing (don’t forget that you need a VA fishing license first). Some boats are permitted but not with gasoline engines.
Here’s a tour around Mint Springs Park for you to enjoy.
If you get enough of the swimming and picnic grounds, the scenery around the lake is worth a stroll. Here is a link to a TRAIL MAP for Mint Springs Park.
