Here’s a great opportunity for those of you in central Virginia who enjoy the outdoors and the Shenandoah National Park.
On March 28th and again on April 4th, the Shenandoah National Park staff will be hosting training sessions for people who would like to volunteer to be 2011 Park Ambassadors for the park’s 75th anniversary celebration. Tasks may include such things as helping in booths at festivals, acting as hostess or greeter at an event, and answering questions about the anniversary and park in welcome centers.
Details for volunteering are here. Each training session is expected to last approximately 3 hours, and volunteers will agree to be available to help host the various events for the celebration season. This is a wonderful chance for nature lovers to participate in spreading knowledge and goodwill about the heritage and preservation of one of our local treasures …. and also a chance to spend quality time at the Shenandoah National Park, always a treat.
